A humble attitude It is possible, but not at all easy, to change your organisation and processes. It has, however, been done before and can be done again.
Accept unclear requirements and goals Streamlining and change are classic examples of projects with unclear goals. It is therefore important to have a method of working which allows us to start with unclear goals but still deliver clear benefits.
Utilise modern processes and tools In the last few years a number of internationally recognised standards, processes, methods and techniques in different branches have emerged. None of these acronyms and abbreviations are the invention of a single recluse but are instead the result of many people's cumulative experience in each area. It has been shown that the probability of success is massively increased if one applies relevant parts of the above framework, instead of personally reinventing the wheel.
Stepwise changes It is true that it is important to ensure a comprehensive overall vision and set of goals but, for the type of improvements we are discussing, it is equally important to take a series of small steps towards the goal, adjusting the direction as the organisation learns and develops. It can be tempting to try to define everything in detail in the beginning and "get it over with". Practical experience has, however, shown that it is significantly more profitable to launch change in small steps. The extra launch costs we obtain are paid back several times over in the form of more reliable delivery. A "Big bang" simply doesn't work.
We help you to get the job done in a more fun, more effective and more profitable way. Faster projects, more effective testing, fewer errors, better requirements handling and much more! |
